Foncello Campaign Eligible to Receive CEP Grant
In a live Facebook meeting on Thursday, July 11, 2024, the SEEC (State Elections Enforcement Commission) voted unanimously that candidate Marty Foncello was eligible to receive the full CEP grant. The CEP (Citizens’ Election Program) is a voluntary program that allows qualifying candidates for the General Assembly and statewide offices to receive full public financing for their campaigns if they meet the thresholds set by the program.
Martin Foncello, current CT State Representative for the 107th House District, had announced that his re-election campaign reached the SEEC threshold in early April to qualify for the CEP, well in advance of his convention on May 16th.
Marty has a long record of public service in both the military and civilian sectors. He served two terms as Brookfield First Selectman from December 1999 to December 2003. Following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Lieutenant Colonel Foncello was called to Active Duty in Washington, D.C., where he served as an Intelligence Officer with the Army’s Intelligence & Security Command. Marty was able to continue his duties as First Selectman during his tour in Washington.
In 2022, Marty ran a successful campaign to represent the 107th and in his tenure in the State Legislature in Hartford, has served on the following very active committees:
- Aging
- Appropriations
- Education
Marty looks forward to continue serving the people in his District and representing them in Hartford. “I’m proud of what we have accomplished in Hartford during this term but there is still much more to do,” he said. “I want to keep fighting for seniors, children, taxpayers and veterans, and for public safety in our community. I have the experience, the vision and the passion to make a difference.”
Marty thanks his followers for their support over the past 2 years and asks for their continued support for all Republican candidates running in the upcoming November election.
